Cleaning House

Have you ever had a big fight with your spouse and took your frustrations out on your house? Perhaps it looks like weeding an over grown flower bed or cleaning out the kitchen pantry that’s been needing attention for ages. Sometimes I wonder how is it my house isn’t always clean!

However, after the adrenaline and the anger fade in comes a new wave of emotions. Why didn’t I do this sooner?! Why do I wait until things pile up before DOING something?!

And this is where I am gently reminded that God’s timing is always perfect. Perhaps your house has been a mess for years but it wasn’t time yet. Maybe you just needed some divine inspiration.

So today as I clean all the things, and process all the emotions ever, I try to give myself some grace.

Next time you’re facing a big obstacle that is daunting to you, roll up your sleeves and tackle it, but don’t forget to give yourself some grace dear one.

God’s timing is always perfect.

  1. I get stuck behind psychological blocks with stuff like cleaning- and sometimes it takes an external jolt to shake it loose! Of course it feels ‘easy’ once I get going, and just like you, I wonder why I haven’t been doing this all along! And just like you, I try to remember to give myself grace: The road was littered with debris, of course I couldn’t cruise along without a care! A weather event needed to come along and clear it up, and NOW it’s an easy drive!
